Publications \ Solomon Islands Government Action-Plan to Improve ICT Cybersecurity, Infrastructure Resilience and Service Delivery 2020–2024
The Action-Plan I prepared for the Solomon Islands Government sets out a practical 2020–2024 portfolio to strengthen whole-of-government ICT cybersecurity, infrastructure resilience, and service delivery. Developed in response to a cybersecurity audit and the arrival of improved national connectivity through the Coral Sea Cable System, the plan combines organisational reform with critical infrastructure modernization. It proposes governance through a Portfolio Implementation Committee, centralisation of ICT professionals, strengthened SIG ICT Services capabilities, skills development, change management, user awareness, access controls, SOC/NOC functions, datacentre high availability, firewall and routing upgrades, microsegmentation, vulnerability management, backup and continuity improvements, and expanded provincial connectivity. The roadmap prioritizes urgent risk reduction through June 2020 and phased implementation through 2024, with costed investments designed to secure government data, improve operational accountability, reduce critical cyber risks, and equip SIG ICT Services to support Solomon Islands’ broader digital government transformation.
